Once upon a time, the Israeli businessman was known for his rough, take-it-or-leave-it attitude. After 60 years, everything is changing due to increased globalization and Aliya from Western countries. Nevertheless, the stigma remains.

But you can help change the world view!

Would you like to promote a friend's business in Israel?
Did you work with an Oleh over the phone or Internet?
Have you hired an Israeli (resident of Israel), either from the U.S. or on vacation in Israel, and would like to go on record about the great experience?

I'm working on a social PR campaign to improve the image of the Israeli resident in the business world. We'd like to compile a series of written and video endorsements and testimonials. These would include statements on behalf of a specific Israel-based business and/or the concept of the Israeli businessperson in general.

In your own words, please tell us
* your name and location
* the name of the Israeli business
* the service they provided
* how you were introduced to the business
* your expectations
* the outcome of working with this organization
* will you work with them again, or recommend them to your friends
* have your expectations changed for Israeli businesses, in general?

It would be great if we can get some video, from a webcam or digital camera or camcorder, but a written statement will also be great.

Your submission will be a building block of a larger campaign, compiled and published to show the world how great Israel truly is.

E-mail me with any questions.

My name is Jackie Saltz. I live in Southern California and I am the International Chair of Project Reconnect, the alumni association of the youth and young adult programs of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.

When we formed our organization six years ago, it became quite clear that our success in being able to reach out to our alumni living all over the world, would need an appropriate web site.

We have a large alumni base in Israel and through them I was introduced to Charlie Kalech,Director of J-Town Productions LTD.

We had several web designing companies bid to create our web site in the United States but it became obvious to us that Charlie and J-Town Productions LTD, were by far the most outstanding of the lot, with not only a true understanding of our needs but they exhibited a true caring for our being able to succeed in what we wanted to be able to accomplish, while helping us to understand the most creative ways in getting there within our budgetary constraints.

J-Town co. created a virtual community site for our more than 15,000 registered alumni (and growing), a most sophisticated site arhitecture with permission for guests, members, group administrators and site-wide administrators managed through a web interface whereby we provide: News updates --
Threaded Web and e-mail discussion restricted and managed by groups--
Searchable directory of members and member-owned businesses --
Administrators have the ability to send out e-mail based on search criteria (e.g. send to all people in a certain geographic location, who graduated from a certain program, are a certain age, etc.)-- Ticketing system to track development--
Updating of pages through Web forms.

J-Town had the added task of dealing with a chair of an international project who knew what she wanted to accomplish but who had no technical understanding of the language or scope of the world in which she was entering.

They had and still have the patience of a saint in terms of explaining and educating the chair and committee responsible for the success of our web site.

Their skills at being able to create just the right thing for us,with a personal touch, as we grow, make changes and additions to our web site has been most comforting, exciting and enjoyable.

I had no expectations about dealing with an Israeli company and hadn't really thought about doing so. I had expected to deal with a company "closer to home". However, I am most pleased with the choice that we made. We have been with J-Town for six years and even though we have had companies in the U.S. who are still trying to capture our business, we are very much committed to our partnership and would definitely recommend J-Town Co. LTD to our friends and associates.

Because of our success with J-Town Co. LTD and our devotion as a movement to Israel and our alumni who make (and have made) aliya, we have created a Yellow Pages, exhibitng the businesses and services offered by our alumni and associates in Israel, which we are promoting to our alumni, members of our synagogues and our associates in North America.

Shalom! I am Carolyn Enger, from Englewood, NJ. The Israeli based business that I would like to share about is www.learnhebrewpod.com. It is a website dedicated to teaching Conversational Hebrew, using podcasts as well as other wonderful interactive techniques. I was introduced to the site by a friend. It has exceeded my expectations. The quality is superb. The outcome of working with this organization has changed my life significantly for the best. My Hebrew has improved drastically as well as my deep love and connection to Israel. I am awestruck by the level of professionalism and quality of excellence. I am continuing my relationship and sharing the site with everyone I know. I feel a great trust and loyalty in this company and all of the Israeli businesses that work to support it.

I would be happy to participate in a video about Israeli businesses and www.learnhebrewpod.com, in particular.

Thank you,
Sincerely,

Carolyn Enger
