"We cant lie anymore?" and the answer was "YES" - you can't lie anymore. I actually have no clue who said this . About 2 weeks ago a friend of mine called me up, asked if I want to travel with him to Berlin to the web20expo conference. Being in the web design / development industry this would have been a very useful trip ...but I couldnt make it.

That's ok. My friend made it. He got back to Israel and recalled all the highlights. An especially interesting one...that I would like to tell you about. Like mentioned above I dont know who spoke, but in order to speak at such a conference I am sure your words have to have some weight. Anyways, He was telling the large audience that companies and businesses can no longer lie. Today with the way the internet has evolved - social networking - blogs - user reviews...etc etc....People's opinions are now out in the open. As opposed to the past when people were in their private homes staring into a "1 way" tv screen - everything that the media shot at them would have to just sink in. People had no way to respond at least not at the power they have today. Today businesses have to really create a good product for it to succeed. A thing that stood out was that someone from the audience got up and asked in shock "Are you saying that businesses will not be able to lie anymore?" and the answer was "Yes" Business now must tell the truth to succeed.

So the good news is that people are finally moving towards truth......

Alot of other interesting things were said at that conference....maybe I will save it for next time.

Important note: Dont believe everything you read (-:

Aaron,

Great post! Not only is lying becoming harder, but as you implied, truth is being rewarded. The same way people respond better to the everyday language used on sites like Google, clients appreciate authenticity when doing business as well.
