Welcome to Bloggerce

I am very excited to announce that Bloggerce has gone live. We’re still in beta and there are lots of kinks to work out, but we’d be delighted if you’d come by and kick the tires.

Bloggerce is a new web service that makes it easy for anyone to create, publish and sell eBooks online with no technical expertise required. Bloggerce takes care of all the layout, formatting and credit card processing. Bloggerce has a unique approach to building an eBook – authors create chapters from individual articles, columns or blog posts, then stitch them together into an eBook which they can sell as a whole or as individual chapters. Unlike print books, an eBook doesn’t have to be 300 pages; 20-100 pages is fine. The service is free to use – we pay authors 70% of sales.

Bloggerce is both a content creation tool and a distribution channel. We give members their own personal web store plus all content is published to the central searchable Bloggerce Marketplace which we promote.

EBooks are becoming increasingly popular. Wholesale revenue in 2007 for just the major consumer publishing houses in the U.S. was $31.8 million. That doesn’t include titles outside the mainstream publishers or user generated content (such as from Bloggerce). Portable reading devices now include the Sony Reader, Apple iPhone and Amazon Kindle, the latter of which could easily double sales of eBooks.

Bloggerce is targeting bloggers, newspapers and newsletter publishers that have created unique content not available anywhere else or that have substantial archives that are difficult to access. For example, a newspaper columnist may create a compilation of his most popular articles to sell as a “best of” collection.

Bloggerce members who refer their friends earn 5% from all content sold by those they invite.

Bloggerce is free to use – we pay authors 70% of sales.
