Jerusalemite.net, the culture guide for Jerusalem, is looking to hire a part-time or freelance writer for blog content and short blurbs on cultural events and local establishments.

This job pays 40 NIS per hour on a salary basis through our holding company, IT Magazine LTD. Alternatively, we can offer 46 NIS per hour to applicants who are registered with the Israeli income tax authorities as freelancers and can issue invoices against their billings.

We estimate our needs at this time to require a commitment of around 10 hours per week. However, our organization is growing and evolving relatively rapidly, so quality performance at this job is likely to lead to additional opportunities and additional hours.

Requirements:

- Applicants must be able to work from home using their own high-speed internet connection, but some field work may be necessary as well

- Strong communication skills

- Applicants must be highly organized and ambitious, with the ability to juggle many roles and rolling deadlines independently

- Versatility and the ability to write with a strong sense of color and brand voice

- Respectable Hebrew reading and speaking skills

- A working knowledge of Jerusalem and its cultural landscape

- Familiarity with content management systems, RSS and the other tools of the trade will be considered favorably

- Experience in entertainment journalism will be considered favorably
