About Tikvat Yisrael
Mission Statement:
"Tikvat Yisrael strives to create a better Jewish community by
creating programs that have high Impact, engender Cognizance and
illuminate Diversity both in individuals and the larger community
in order to train a generation: giving them the skills, language
and experience to proactively engage Jewish community-building in
their communities of the future."
Tikvat Yisrael seeks to train its program attendees in Jewish
community-building such that they have the language, skills and
first-hand experiences to engage Jewish communal diversity,
particularly in the prayer/liturgy/ritual realms, in a proactive
and constructive way. The organization seeks to accomplish this by
advancing three pillars: the programs should have an impact, both
on individuals and on the larger community; the community should
foster cognizance so that the attendees are consciously aware of
the unique nature of the experience they've had with the community;
and an ongoing commitment to diversity, seeking to continually
reach out to as broad a cross-section of the Jewish community as
possible, so as to give its programs the greatest chances to
advance our mission.
