I am also not a big fan of image-buttons instead of CSSed text links or background-images. I am not a fan at all, to be sincere. I do not see any necessity to place an image as a link. If you need another font other than web-safe fonts today there is no problem with this: use font@face, cufon, typeface.js there are already a solid choice of technics how to replace so called web-safe fonts to custom preferable by you ones.

Another feature for this version of the website is its interesting formula of layout. It is made on base of sequence of Fibonacci numbers. As known, the sequence of Fibonacci numbers is: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13 etc. Each next number is actually a sum of the previous two (i.e. 0+1=1, 1+1=2, 1+2=3, 2+3=5, 3+5=8 etc). So, I calculated the width of each of columns in layout taking as a base 90px width (equal to 1). I started to build the layout from the center, so the first column (which is actually empty in my website) is 180px (equal to 2), second one is 270px (equal to 3) and the third one is 720px (equal to 8) wide.
