The Voleh.org site was launched today for the volunteer organization whose mission is to ease the immigration and absorption process for new olim to Israel, Voleh provides helpful articles, guidance, and the assistance of volunteers who have themselves been through the process.

My role in this project was complete end-to-end service from DNS change to site hosting, WordPress installation (on my HostGator server), design, image optimization, new content writing and editing of older content, SEO, and social media promotion including creation of a Facebook Fan Page.

Rabbi Weiss WordPress site

RabbiStewartWeiss.com was launched today to promote the writings of Rabbi Stewart Weiss, along with upcoming events and the Kosher Tours & Cruises he’s become famous for.

My role in this project was complete end-to-end service from domain name purchase to site hosting, WordPress installation (on my HostGator server), design, image optimization, research, content editing, SEO, MailChimp mailing list management and social media promotion.

For the past 6 months I’ve been editing and writing English content for an exciting Israeli hi-tech start-up. During that time their web presence has been sharpened and undergone a transformation from this:

While handling all things English for them, I was charged with the creation of an English version of the online help system for their software application – the latest version 2.1 is scheduled to be launched on October 25th. I also set up various Amazon.com shops for them.

Unexpected Parnassah in Israel

One very strange, yet exciting, thing about living in Israel is that parnassah (one’s livelihood) can come from the most unexpected sources!

For example, as I wrote a while ago, after 13 months of scouring job sites and sending out résumés all over the Internet for numerous hours daily, Michael landed a job with a company that didn’t have an opening at that time. A manager at Delek met Michael through a consultant he had networked with via an NBN contact who knew he was looking for work. Delek hired him because 1) they might need someone to fill that role in about 6 months and 2) the company is committed to helping new olim.
