From a Professional Business Blogger:

The Single Most Valuable Piece of Advice I Have Ever Given!

.

To anyone who is struggling with Business blogging, doesn’t know how or where to start or just can’t seem to get in the groove:

Okay, perhaps you are having a difficult go at it. My initial piece of advice (Not the Most Valuable Piece I promised in the title…that’s further down the page):

Statistics show that, unfortunately, most do give up. The average Business blog ends, sadly, after only three weeks. It goes something like this according to experts: Week One: 3 postings; Week Two: 1 or 2 postings; Week Three: 1 posting; Week Four: none. Why should you persist?

.

A Business blog is, by far, the single greatest way to attract clients in this, the 21st Century Business world. The battle for the next client, and the next paycheck, is fierce. It can be brutal. A Business blog, as I’ve found out, can make all of the difference in whether your inbox fills up and your phone rings or whether you suffer through another day, week or month of downtime. Filled with tips, advice, logic, wisdom and acumen, your blog acts as a magnet to attract customers.

A blog is, according to experts, "The new resume (CV) of the 21st Century." It is where prospective clients come to see what skills you possess, what you have to offer and how you think.

So What is the Advice

I am an author, literary writer and blogger, both for myself and for companies that hire me to blog for them. Creativity is my livelihood. It pays my bills so to speak.

And, I’m here to say, creativity is the #1 way to establish a Business blog that stands out from the crowd. No matter how great the content may be, readers (all of whom are potential paying customers) don’t tend to return to blogs that are boring. There must be a creative spark. You must tell a story, provoke thought and entertain.

.

The good news, the GREAT news in fact, is that creativity and the birthing and fostering of creative ideas CAN be learned! It is not something which is genetically programmed into the minds and fingers of the few.

.

So my advice to you is this…if you are struggling to find your voice in Business blogging:

Take a course in Creative Writing!

.

"Oh no!" you’re saying to yourself with an audible groan…"This guy offers courses in Creative Writing and he’s trying to get me to sign up! You devious bastard!"

.

Well, the fact is I don’t offer them.

.

So where can you find them? You can find private teachers who instruct in group settings (make sure they are qualified and knowledgeable), there are courses at your local community college, and of course, you’ll find them on the university level.

Creative Writing courses tend to be relatively short in duration and relatively inexpensive. $500 to $700 may seem like a lot, but if your blogging improves, you can make the money back with your next client. A pretty good ROI (Return on Investment).

.

The fact is I know nothing about Graphic Design, Engineering, Computer Programming or Law…areas that perhaps you specialize in. If I wanted to learn, I would need to take courses. The same pertains to anyone who wants to increase the level of their writing skills.

.

If you are struggling with your Business writing, it just may be the "shot in the arm" that you need!
